St. Johns County Library Services seeks a Branch Manager to be responsible for managing the operations of the Bartram Trail branch Library. Oversees the daily operations, trains, assigns, schedules, directs, supervises, evaluates and disciplines staff; manages building and grounds maintenance. Assists the public with informational and circulation needs. Resolves patron and personnel issues. Maintains an awareness of library trends and issues; reads professional and related literature; attends workshops, seminars and conferences; maintains professional affiliations. Develops, updates, and implements branch policies and procedures. Coordinates the collection and compilation of statistics; prepares monthly and other reports. Recommends budgets to maintain or change service levels or to implement capital improvements. Serves as liaison to the Friends of the Library support group and to other community and business organizations. Responsible for overseeing branch collections. Supervises the development and implementation of adult and youth programming. Directs public relations and publicity operations for the library branch. Performs other duties as assigned. Must have knowledge of current and emerging trends and practices in library management, services and development. Knowledge of current and emerging library technologies. Knowledge of library operations and services. Must be skilled in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the work of personnel. Skilled in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions. Skilled in the preparation of clear and precise reports. Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite. Skilled in oral and written communication. Must possess a Master?s degree in Library Science from an accredited university or college and two years of professional level, paid and progressively responsible library or equivalent experience, or one year as an Assistant Branch Manager. Must have extensive knowledge of professional library principles, methods, practices and materials as they apply to public service work. Must have one to three years of supervisory experience. Must have knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited university. Must have experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years of experience or service. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver?s license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to serve others. Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language. Must be able to operate a computer.
